We work very hard to insure that you are provided with clean, well maintained cabins and grounds. Please do not leave any trash, including cigarette butts, in the national forest or on our property. If trash remains on the premises that is not contained in a waste receptacle, your entire security deposit will be forfeited. Campfire pits are not waste receptacles for items that don't burn such as glass and aluminum.

If your trash cans or recylcing containers become full, please remove and tie the bag and replace it with the trash bags provided for you. Full bags can be stored anywhere in the yard that is convenient.

Unfortunately, some visitors to the national forest, particularly at the rivers, arrogantly choose to leave trash behind, usually piled up in an extinguished fire. On many occasion we have carried a trash bag with us to the river to remove the debris as a courtesy to the next guy and in an effort to preserve the raw beauty of the land that belongs to us all. Please be a good sport whenever you can. We certainly don't want your vacation to be spent picking up trash, but if every visitor to the national forest and Missouri's scenic riverways were to pack out even a couple pieces of garbage so rudely left behind by others, the world will be a better place. Removing even a tiny gum wrapper thrown out a car window is beneficial to our ecology and helps to preserve the beautiful landscape. It is always uplifting to eliminate trash left behind by others; sort of a good deed for the day. We won't mention the words that are mumbled while doing it ("your momma raised you wrong"), but it sure does feel great.

Both cabins, the All American and The Pines are equipped with a trash can in the kitchen, the bedrooms, the bathroom, on the screened porch and outside. Aluminum can recycling containers are provided in the kitchen, on the screened porch and outside. The Courtois Cabana campground has a trash barrel and aluminum can recycling barrel.
