We sincerely hope that you will explore the land at ArdPark Cabins and in the adjoining Mark Twain National Forest.
After all, the national forest belongs to you! To promote use of your national forest land, we present you with a
challenge and upon your arrival will provide you with a compass and some insect repellant for your pocket.
Your mission is to find the cave in the national forest. In both cabins, you will always find a topographical map of
ArdPark property and the national forest land that borders it. That map, a little thought and an itch to wander on
some of the most beautiful, rarely traveled land in Missouri is all you will need. You will find the cave less than 1/2 mile into the national forest directly behind the cabins. That's the only clue given to us years ago but, by popular demand, we're giving you additional hints below. To win, guests must produce a clear photo of themselves at the entrance of the cave. We must be able to easily identify you and the cave entrance in your photo. Have fun!

Cave Clues:
1. The property at ArdPark is at benchmark elevation so it's very low you must go.
2. Sometimes I have water, sometimes I do not.
3. Forty acres equals 1/4 mile x 1/4 mile (see topo map in cabins).
4. On the forest trails, if you start out to the right, go to the left. If you start out to the left, go to the right.
5. There is plenty of room for a group photo under my overhang but you would have to duck walk to get inside.
6. At my small exit hole, it's like air conditioning blowing out the side of the mounded ground.
7. Near my entrance there is a small metal sign designating me as a natural geological site.
